Terms of service

These are written to be read. By using Page Change Detector you agree to them, including the acceptable use policy below.

What you may watch

Page Change Detector reads public, logged-out pages. You must have the right to watch the URL you add, and you are responsible for following the terms and rules of the site you are watching. Login-protected pages, stored cookies and page actions are not supported, so please do not ask us to simulate them.

Acceptable use

Do not use Page Change Detector to stalk or harass anyone, to watch a person without their knowledge, to follow a phishing kit, or to gather personal information about somebody. Do not use it to load test, flood or overload a site. Do not use it to attack anyone's systems or network, and do not try to reach an internal or private network through us. Do not resell the service as your own or mask who is really asking.

Here is what that means in practice, because the rules above are meant to be usable, not decorative: watching a shop page for a restock, a government page for a notice, a competitor's public pricing page, or your own site is what the product is for. Pointing it at one person, at a leaked credential page, or at a wall of URLs at high speed is not.

What we refuse

Every check fetches a public page the ordinary way. We do not log in, we do not send cookies, we do not solve CAPTCHAs, we do not imitate a browser to get past a bot wall, and we do not try the same block again and again. If a site turns us away, we record that the check was blocked and stop. Social profile hosts are refused for every account, because their terms rule out automated checks.

Blocking a host

A site owner can ask us to stop watching their site, and we will add the host to our block list. We can also block a host on our own judgement at any time. Send a request to [email protected]. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed monthly at the price shown on the pricing page, and Stripe handles the payment. We do not see or store your card. You can cancel at any time from your account, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Each plan sets how many monitors you may run, how often a page may be checked, and how much history is kept, as listed on the pricing page.

Your history

The versions and changes we record for a monitor are private to your account. Nobody else can read them, and we do not publish them.

What a result means

A change report is a comparison of the readable text we extracted, which is text and never a screenshot. It is what we measured, and we do not promise it captures everything: a site can serve different content to different callers, can hide text from us, or can block us entirely. Please treat a report as a strong signal, not as proof.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it running, but it can be interrupted or fail, and we cannot promise it will work without error. Where something does go wrong on our side, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim.
